Light-Proof Door

A door assembly designed to completely block light transmission, used for photographic darkrooms, sleeping quarters, theaters, and light-sensitive laboratories. Light-proof doors combine dense door construction with comprehensive perimeter sealing.

Construction features include solid-core doors (often with lead cores for X-ray rooms), light-blocking gaskets on all four edges, and labyrinth seals at the threshold. Door/frame gaps must be eliminated or blocked.
