Composite Door

A door constructed from multiple materials combined to optimize performance characteristics-typically a core material with face materials and edge banding. Composite doors offer engineered performance unattainable with single materials.

Core materials include particleboard, MDF, honeycomb, foam, and structural composites. Faces may be high-pressure laminate (HPL), fiberglass, aluminum, or wood veneer. Edge banding uses hardwood, softwood, or plastic to protect core edges.

Fire-rated composite doors achieve ratings through mineral cores or intumescent materials. Exterior composite doors combine insulating cores with weather-resistant faces. Related: flush door, solid-core door, fire door. Shop composite doors.
