Magnetic Door Stop

A door stop using magnetic attraction to hold doors in the open position. A floor or wall-mounted magnet attracts a strike plate on the door, providing secure hold-open without mechanical engagement.

Holding forces range from 3 lbs to 25 lbs depending on magnet size. Floor-mounted magnetic stops minimize wall damage; wall-mounted versions protect floor finishes. Combined rubber bumper/magnetic units provide both stop and hold-open functions.

Magnetic stops allow easy release by pulling the door-no lever or friction mechanism to disengage. Not appropriate for fire doors, which require electromagnetic hold-opens tied to fire alarm. Related: doorstop, door holder. Shop door stops.
