FORMERLY MCKINNEY DOOR SOLUTIONS & AMERICAN DOOR PRODUCTS - NOW UNITED AS AMERICAN DOORS.
A door system without a traditional surrounding frame, featuring glass panels supported by specialized hardware for a minimalist, open aesthetic. Frameless systems are common in modern office environments, storefronts, and high-end commercial interiors.
Glass thickness typically ranges from 3/8″ to 1/2″ tempered for safety. Hardware includes top and bottom pivot patches, door rails, sidelite stabilizers, and transom clips. Full-frameless systems have no metal framing; semi-frameless systems use minimal perimeter framing.
Glass types include clear, low-iron (ultra-clear), frosted, back-painted, and laminated. Frameless systems cannot achieve fire ratings. Door closers are typically floor-mounted or concealed overhead. Patch fittings secure glass to pivots and pulls. Related terms: glazing, pivot hinge. Explore frameless systems.
