AAMA

Home Glossary AAMA

The American Architectural Manufacturers Association-a standards organization developing specifications for doors, windows, curtain walls, and storefronts. AAMA standards ensure product quality and performance.

AAMA standards cover performance testing (air infiltration, water penetration, structural load), material specifications, installation procedures, and certification programs. Window and door assemblies are rated under AAMA schemes for performance levels.

AAMA merged with WDMA (Window and Door Manufacturers Association) in 2024. Specifiers reference AAMA standards for storefront entrances, curtain wall systems, and architectural products. Related organizations: WDMA, DHI. Browse our products.
