A multi-panel sliding door system where panels nest behind each other when open, minimizing the stacking depth required. Telescopic doors provide wide openings where limited side space exists.
Two-panel telescopic systems require stacking space of approximately 1/2 the opening width; three-panel systems require approximately 1/3. Panels move at different speeds to nest simultaneously-the leading panel moves fastest.
Applications include storefront entries, cleanrooms, operating rooms, and large equipment openings. Automatic telescopic doors incorporate motion sensors, safety devices, and breakaway features per ANSI/BHMA A156.10. Fire-rated telescopic doors are available.
