Reinforced Door Frame

A door frame with additional steel reinforcement at hardware locations and/or throughout, providing enhanced resistance to forced entry and improved hardware holding.

Reinforcement types include: hinge backing plates (prevent hinge screw pull-through), strike reinforcement (extended strikes with 3″ screws into studs), full-height steel stiffeners, and concrete-filled frame profiles. Security-grade frames may include 12 gauge steel or double welded construction.

Reinforced frames are specified for security doors, high-traffic areas, heavy doors, and locations experiencing abuse. Proper reinforcement is essential for the full security system-locks are only as strong as their frame connection. Related: door frame, jamb, security door. Shop reinforced frames.
