Founded in 1968, Medeco established its position in high security with the invention of a unique locking principal using angled-cut keys with elevation and rotation of special pin tumblers, providing over two million unique key combinations. Acquired by ASSA ABLOY in 1998, Medeco locks are manufactured in Salem, Virginia with approximately 250 employees. For more than 50 years, Medeco has led the security industry in innovation and quality, guarding lives and assets at U.S. government and military installations, schools, universities, hospitals, banks, and homes worldwide with locks that are highly resistant to virtually all forms of attack.
