FORMERLY MCKINNEY DOOR SOLUTIONS & AMERICAN DOOR PRODUCTS - NOW UNITED AS AMERICAN DOORS.
A sliding door that retracts into a compartment built within the adjacent wall, completely disappearing from view when open. Pocket doors save floor space and eliminate door swing interference.
Single pocket doors slide into one wall; converging pairs slide into both walls of an opening. Standard pocket door frames accommodate 2×4 or 2×6 wall construction and require headers spanning the full track length. Door weights up to 175 lbs are supported on ball-bearing trolleys rolling on overhead tracks.
Commercial pocket doors include fire-rated assemblies (with automatic closing devices), lead-lined versions for X-ray rooms, and acoustic configurations for sound isolation. Hardware includes edge pulls, passage locks with edge-mounted latches, and ADA-compliant operating hardware. Soft-close mechanisms prevent slamming. Related terms: sliding door, barn door, bi-fold door. Shop pocket door systems.
